Our Craft

The details begin long before you wear them.

A dress takes shape through a thousand small decisions: the fall of a fabric, the placement of a pearl, the line of a seam.

At Mercierre, our dresses bring together careful construction and intricate handwork. Step inside the making process, from the first pattern to the finishing details.

01 — Fabric & Preparation

Where the dress begins.

Sheer tulle, delicate lace, luminous satin and embellished fabrics each bring something different to a design.

Patterns guide the shape, while cutting and placement help determine how the fabric will sit, move and reveal its details. This early work lays the foundation for everything that follows.

02 — Shape & Construction

Bringing the silhouette to life.

Fabric becomes form as panels are joined, layers are assembled and the dress takes shape on a mannequin.

Machine sewing provides structure, while hands guide delicate materials into place. Attention to seams, lining and proportion helps bring the silhouette together—from the bodice to the fall of the skirt.

03 — Details & Finishing

Small details. Patient work.

Pearls, beads and appliqués add texture, light and dimension. Depending on the design, these details may be worked into sheer mesh, secured along an edge or arranged to follow the shape of the dress.

Some of this work happens one bead, one stitch and one placement at a time. It is a quiet part of the process, with a visible effect on the finished piece.

04 — Final Checks

A closer look at the finished piece.

The final stage brings attention back to the whole dress: its shape, its seams, the placement of its details and the way its layers fall together.

Measurements, stitching and embellishments are the focus here, alongside the finishing touches that prepare a dress for its next chapter.

From our craft to your occasion.

The making is only the beginning. The rest belongs to you—the occasion, the photographs and the memories you make wearing it.
